Who am I? Qui suis je? Quién soy?
My name is Brittany, but many just call me Brit. I was born and raised near Dayton, Ohio. After graduating from college with a degree in History and Political Science, I moved to Washington, DC to work at various political nonprofit organizations over the course of 6 years. While there, I met and married my husband Isaiah, who’s an active duty sailor. We don’t have any children, but we do have two cats named Hanami and Calypso. The Navy sent us to Yokosuka, Japan in April 2015, where we lived until May 2018. We were then relocated to Seoul, South Korea, where we currently reside. For the time being, I’m working as a teacher and loving every minute of it (which is surprising considering I’m a huge introvert)! In my spare time, I enjoy travel, fashion, beauty, urban photography, documentaries, baking, books, learning new languages, and exploring the city!
Why? Porquoi? Por qué?
After finishing my MBA, I realized I have a lot more free time to do things… like start a blog! You may think, “Why start a blog now? Especially in such a saturated market?” Because I live abroad, travel regularly, and love all things beauty and fashion, I am often asked for tips and recommendations. I thought it would be best to write everything in a central, publicly-accessible location in case it may be helpful to others!
What? Quoi? Qué?
As of right now, I plan to post about topics related to travel, beauty, and miscellaneous life + style! Here is what you can expect…
- Travel: Destinations, airline and hotel reviews, activity and site suggestions, basic words and phrases in the native language, cultural overview, local etiquette, currency and exchange rates, dining recommendations, and more!
- Beauty: Makeup, K-beauty, skincare, haircare, body care product reviews and recommendations from retailers such as drugstores, Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, MAC, and Amazon.
- Fashion: Clothing hauls, try-ons, and inspiration for fans of both classic staples and trendy pieces. I’m a mid-size gal who enjoys fashion. I recognize that head-to-toe luxury, 6-inch heels, and crop tops aren’t realistic choices for the average person. Keeping this in mind, I promise to do my best to be income- and size-inclusive.
- Lifestyle: On occasion, I will include eclectic posts on topics such as health, meal planning, fitness, recipes, finance, education, and anxiety. Reader suggestions are always welcome!
